![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's why wandering around open world you can instantly know what build someone is using, whereas in D3 pub groups you never knew what you'd run into. You straight up cannot get away with 99% of interesting builds if you want to actually make meaningful progress in D4. D3 is balanced around the average build being strong, D4 is balanced around the strongest builds being average. I want to try different builds, crazy builds, experiment with stuff, but D4 doesn't allow that at all. But that's not what I want out of an ARPG, which Diablo is like the default of for most people. I'm happy to pay $10-$20 for an indie game with ~2-3 hours of content if it's good (Smushi, Omno, etc.). So not unlike the boosts there supposedly will be in D4 seasons for leveling etc.įor the average game, sure. Basically you can make anything work if you try hard enough for T16, and certain builds are only required if you want to push GR 80+ which is only needed for grinding the highest level of legendary gems (for use or ascension) and somewhat higher droprates, but importantly you can make meaningful progress using any build you want.Įdit to add: The reason they added the set caches to the season journey was to speed up things for people and make it a little less RNG to get off the ground, because in D3 the endgame clearly starts at 70, whereas D4 it starts at 50 and lasts for 40 more levels. You haven't been forced into specific sets in D3 in years and years, the legendary boost legendary gem allow for a HUGE variety of builds, and the sets themselves have variety within them, more so than anything D4 has offered so far. ![]()
